Current Northern Territory Acts

Current Northern Territory Legislation Database	Click on ‘view legislation alphabetically’, then select the first letter of the Act title, then scroll to find the relevant Act. The site does not offer a full-text search (use Lawlex or AustLII if you need to search full text). Provided by the Office of the Parliamentary Counsel.
Lawlex	Type in the name of the Act in the ‘keywords’ field and the year in the ‘year from’ field. Set the jurisdiction to ‘NT’ and the document type to ‘principal Act’, then click ‘Search’. Each Act on Lawlex has a ‘home page’ – click on the title of the Act to link to the current version of the Act on the Northern Territory government legislation website. The Act homepage also includes links to the Second Reading speech and explanatory statement. You can also browse legislation by subject – scroll down past the alphabetic index to find the subject index.
AustLII	Browse by title or use the ‘name search’ to find current Acts by title. Use the ‘database search’ to search the full text of Acts. Check the update status for legislation page to see when the database was last updated. Once you are viewing an individual section of an Act, click on ‘note-up’ to find cases considering that section.
Legify	Type in the name of the Act – matching titles will appear as you type. Click on the relevant item to be taken directly to that Act on the Northern Territory government legislation website.

Note: Ordinances were a form of legislation made by the Commonwealth for the Northern Territory prior to self-government (1 July 1978).

Northern Territory Legislation History Database	Coverage: 1980s- (varies by title) Click on ‘view legislation alphabetically’, then select the first letter of the Act title, then scroll to find the relevant Act. Click on the blue ‘start date’ to open the Act. Note: there may be several historical versions of an Act. The start date is listed in blue, the end date is in brown. Also includes Acts which have been repealed (these are clearly marked). Provided by the Northern Territory Government, Department of the Chief Minister.
