Current Queensland Regulations

Queensland Legislation
  • Regulations are listed under the enabling (parent) Act. Note that this site uses the broader term ‘subordinate legislation’ rather than ‘regulations’.
  • Browse by title or search full text.
  • Current online reprints are now authorised.
  • See also ‘current annotations‘, which includes details of recent amendments, uncommenced amendments and proposed amendments.
  • Provided by the Office of the Queensland Parliamentary Counsel.
Local laws database
  • “Local laws are statutory instruments made by local governments to regulate a broad range of issues within their communities.” (Source: Local Government Local Laws)
  • Provided by the Department of Local Government, Community Recovery and Resilience.
Lawlex
  • Type in the name of the regulation in the ‘keywords’ field and the year in the ‘year from’ field. Set the jurisdiction to ‘QLD’ and the document type to ‘Principal Regulation’.
  • Each regulation on Lawlex has a ‘home page’ – click on the title of the regulation to link to the current version of the regulation on the Office of the Queensland Parliamentary Counsel website.
  • You can also browse legislation by subject  – scroll down past the alphabetic index to find the subject index.
AustLII
  • Browse by title or use the ‘name search’ to find current Regulations by title.
  • Use the ‘database search’ to run a full text search across all current Queensland regulations.
  • Check the update status for legislation page to see when the database was last updated.
  • Once you are viewing an individual provision of a regulation, click on ‘note-up’ to find cases considering that provision.

Queensland Legislation
  • Coverage: 1991-
  • Browse by year. Regulations are listed chronologically, i.e. by number. Note that this site uses the broader term ‘subordinate legislation’ (abbreviated to SL) rather than ‘regulations’.
  • To run a full text search, choose ‘SL as made’ from the menu titled ‘select a collection to search in’.
  • Provided by the Office of the Queensland Parliamentary Counsel.

  • Coverage: 2007-
  • Browse by title or use the ‘name search’.
  • To run a full text search, use the ‘database search’.

Point in time Queensland Regulations (historical versions)

Queensland Legislation
  • Coverage: 1994-
  • Regulations are listed under the enabling (parent) Act.
  • Click on the first letter of the Act title – all the Acts beginning with that letter are listed in a table. Scroll down to find the Act, and the regulations made under it. Locate the relevant regulation then click on the ‘document’ icon in the last column of the table to find the historical versions of the regulation.
  • If the regulation has been repealed, use the repealed legislation page, click on the first letter of the regulation title, then scroll down to find the regulation. The historical versions are numbered but not dated. The site notes: “to assist in locating a particular point-in-time version of repealed legislation, open the last reprint of the repealed legislation and use endnote 4 (Table of reprints) as a guide.”

OzCase statutes reprints
  • Coverage: selected regulations (listed under the enabling Act).
  • These are scanned copies of reprinted Queensland regulations, including reprints from the 1960s to the 1990s. Part of an ongoing project.

  • Click on the first letter of the Act title, then scroll to find the Act.
  • Includes historical versions of repealed Acts, which are numbered but not dated. The site notes: “to assist in locating a particular point-in-time version of repealed legislation, open the last reprint of the repealed legislation and use endnote 4 (Table of reprints) as a guide.”
