Current Tasmanian Regulations
Tasmanian Legislation |
- Select ‘Stat Rules’, enter the first word or two from the Regulation / Rule title in the grey search box, then click ‘Search’.
- To search full text, use the advanced search, select ‘Stat Rules’ in the ‘Type’ section and select ‘in the body’ from the drop down menu.
- When you are viewing a Regulation, click the ‘History on’ link in the top right hand corner (icon will turn green) to display the amendment history at the start of each provision.
- Database provided by the Office of Parliamentary Counsel, Department of Premier & Cabinet.

- Type in the name of the Regulation / Rule in the ‘keywords’ field and the year in the ‘year from’ field. Set the jurisdiction to ‘TAS’ and the document type to ‘principal Regulation’.
- Each Regulation on Lawlex has a ‘home page’ – click on the title of the Regulation to link to the current version on the Tasmanian Legislation website.
- You can also browse legislation by subject – scroll down past the alphabetic index to find the subject index.

- Check the update status for legislation page to see when the database was last updated.
- Once you are viewing an individual provision of a Regulation, click ‘note-up’ to find cases considering that provision.

Tasmanian Regulations as made
Regulations in their original form (i.e. with no amendments incorporated) may be called ‘Regulations as made’, ‘Numbered Regulations’ or ‘Sessional Regulations’.

Repealed Tasmanian Regulations

- Enter words from the title of the Regulation in the grey search box, select a date prior to the date of repeal (e.g. the last day it was in force) in the ‘point in time’ section, then click ‘search’.
- The Office of Parliamentary Counsel’s publications page contains a list of Regulations repealed in each year from 2007 including the date the repeal took effect.
